ESP32 broken

(@keinsize)
Level 1

Accidentally connected 5V to output 3.3V on the ESP32 module, after which it began to heat up a lot and stopped working. Is it possible to somehow revive it? Or should I throw it away?
I tried to unsolder the chip itself, then when connecting the power supply the board does not heat up and the voltage is converted correctly to 3.3v

Which module do you use?

@keinsize You can check if there is a short circuit between GND and 3.3V on chip board.

To make it totally clear - short circuit is detected on this small separate board (when it's removed from the "main" module PCB)?

In this case the fix'll be either not easy to implement or even not possible if the ESP32 chip itself is damaged, so the better solution is to replace it with the new one.
